Heechurl Kim

Heechurl Kim served as a music director of World Vision Korea Children’s Choir and Gwacheon City(Gyeonggi Province, South Korea) Women’s Choir more than 15 years. He was recognized by his musical ability through having more than 1,000 performances(domestic and abroad) and he is still leading out to publicize the importance of choral music for children and youth. In 2015, he established Chunsong Foundation which is a music foundation in Jeju Island(South Korea) to contribute on musical education and development in Korea. Jeju International Choir Festival & Symposium was the first international event organized by Heechurl since 2016. After establishing JICF(Jeju International Choir Festival), Kim began another choral festival which is World Youth Choral Festival & Competition in Jeju, Korea, for youth and children in Seogwipo City(located in Jeju), inviting choirs from around the world. As artistic director of both choral festivals, he puts great effort to invite various and professional choirs from Korea and abroad for the purpose of professional choral education and choral music which includes messages through the choral symposium to the society. World Youth Choral Festival & Competition in Jeju, which was held since 2018, has the purpose in cultural exchange through choral music and self-fulfillment. Through children and youth choirs' performances from around the world, he aims to make cultural exchange among the participants and hopes for the participants to make unforgettable memories through this festival.


Currently, he serves as a choir conductor of Myungsung Presbytarian Church, music director of Korea Youth Choir and United Singers, vice-president of UNESCO Jeju association, board member of Korea Church Music Association, vice-president of Korea Federation for Choral Music, and more. Also, he is dean of school of music at Georgia Central University in United States of America(since 2021) and professor of School of Music at Shenyang University in China(since 2019) educating young musicians.

Hyun Chul Lee

Hyun Chul Lee majored in music composition at Georgia State University located in the south of the United States. He has been composed in various genres for children's and adult choirs since 2000, and he has improved his knowledge and experienced many outstanding concerts with well-known performers while studying graduate courses at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, in the U.S.


He has a vision which is 'to be a composer pleasing God with excellency in both spiritual and musical aspects.' Hyun Chul Lee already composed and arranged more than 800 pieces, and his amazing talent was proven through numerous records and performances.
He has his own compositional style with beautiful melodies and harmonies together, his wonderful choral pieces are performed by many choirs in Korea including World Vision Korea Children’s Choir, Incheon City Chorale, etc. getting excellent reputations from the audiences.
His music has been published by many publishers in Korea including Chorus Center, Joongang Art, etc. Especially he was commissioned to compose Christmas Carols for SSA and SATB from Oxford University Press, U.K.
Previously he was a composer-in-residence of World Vision Korea Children's Choir, he is currently an adjunct professor of music composition and theory at Presbyterian University and Theological Seminary, a composer-in-residence of Uijungbu City Choir, a lecturer of Korea Choral Academy, a professor of GCU school of music, and board member of Chunsong Foundation.

Yeong Su Kim

Music director and conductor, Yeong Su Kim is a highly sought-after conductor in Korea and the US. He currently holds positions as a conductor and music director of the Busan Metropolitan Philharmonic Orchestra, the United Symphony Youth Orchestra. As an avid educator, Dr. Kim holds positions at Georgia Central University as an assistant Professor of Conducting and adjunct professor at the Ulsan University where he teaches conducting and Ulsan University Orchestra. He was also an assistant conductor of the Symphony S.O.N.G in Korea. In the United States, he serves as a conductor Laureate of Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Greater Washington where he has served as music director and conductor since its inaugural season to 2016. He also has served as music director and conductor of the Loudoun Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Washington Korean Symphony Orchestra and Washington Soloist Ensemble. As guest conductor, he led Quad State String Festival at Murray State University, Loudoun Symphony Orchestra, the Great Noise Ensemble, a contemporary ensemble, and Danube Symphony Orchestra, Hungary. Maestro Kim often can be seen on the Kennedy Center stages for the Asian American Heritage Month Celebration.


Maestro Kim studied from University of Maryland at College Park (DMA), Yale University (MM), University of Southern California (BM) and he further studied orchestral conducting degree (MM) from the Catholic University of America, where he studied with Murry Sidlin and David Searle. He also participated in such prestigious workshops as the Rose City International Conductor’s Workshop with Christopher Zimmerman and David Hoose, and the Naples Philharmonic conductor’s workshop led by maestro Jorge Mester.
As an oboist, he was a founding member of Voci di Vento Quintet and has performed with the group extensively. As an orchestral musician, he held positions as principal oboist of the Oratorio Society of Charlottesville-Albemarle, the American Balalaika Symphony Orchestra, co-principal oboist with the Washington Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, American Youth Symphony Orchestra and Debut Orchestra. In addition, Yeong Su Kim has appeared with numerous ensembles as a guest artist, including the Georgetown Wind Symphony, the MidAtlantic Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Mozart Orchestra, Bimhamton Philharmonic Orchestra and Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra in Korea. Kim has collaborated with such world-class conductors as Zubin Mehta and Sergiu Comissiona as well as many world renowned soloists, including Midori, Daniel Pollack and Mstislav Rostropovich. Committed to education, maestro Kim served as a conducting faculty at the Kunkuk University, Midwest University, the Catholic University of America and adjunct professor at the Columbia Union College. He is also highly in demand as an adjudicator for many competitions, including the Asian American Music Society International Competition, the Lions of Virginia Bland Music Competition, and the Korea Times Music Competition. Dr. Kim also is a founder of Ensembles for Everyone, a concert program tailored for special needs audience.

Violinist Hyungi Kim is a distinguished soloist and chamber musician, performing over 50 concerts every year ranging from Baroque music to Romantic virtuosic pieces to newly composed music. She started playing the violin at the age of 7 and made a debut at 13, playing Lalo's Symphonic Espagnole with Prime Philharmonic Orchestra. She continued her studies at Seoul National University (BM) and Eastman School of Music (MM, DMA) with Oleh Krysa, who was a pupil of the legendary Russian violinist David Oistrakh.


As a highly accomplished soloist and chamber musician, Hyungi Kim has been invited and performed at Naantali Music Festival (Finland), Kronberg Festival (Germany), Beethoven Festival (Poland), Ufa and Sakhalin (Russia), New York, Tennessee, Colorado, New Mexico tour concert (USA), Shanghai Summer Music Festival MISA, Harbin Music Festival (China), Seoul Arts Center Orchestra Festival, Kumho Young Artist Concert, and Young Artist Festival (Korea). She also had recitals playing a complete cycle of 6 Sonatas and Partitas by Bach, complete Sonatas by Beethoven and Brahms.
Hyungi Kim has also performed with international orchestras including the Greece Symphony, Moldova Teleradio, Martinu Czech Filharmonie Bohuslav, Romania Craiova Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai Baroque Chamber, Seoul Philharmonic and Korean Chamber Orchestra. Especially, in 2009, she was tremendously acclaimed when she played Bartok’s Second Violin Concerto performed with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra at the Korean Orchestra Festival in Seoul Arts Center.
She has released three classical CDs, one of which was complete Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin by Bach. Hyungi Kim held faculty positions at Seoul National University and Yonsei University. She is currently an assistant professor at Georgia Central University and a concertmaster at United Philharmonic Orchestra and also is a member of the Korean Chamber Orchestra, KCO String Quartet and Mirus Trio. She plays a violin constructed by Carlo Antonio Testore of Milan c. 1760.

Dr. Jong-In Kim

Dr. Jong-In Kim is an internationally acclaimed choral conductor, educator, and arts administrator with extensive experience in professional, academic, and community choral settings. He has served as assistant conductor of the Incheon City Chorale and the National Chorus of Korea and has led workshops and clinics for K–12 students and music educators.


Dr. Kim has appeared as a guest conductor with major professional choirs, including the National Chorus of Korea, Ansan City Choir, Ulsan Metropolitan Choir, Gangneung City Choir, Incheon City Chorale, Seongnam City Chorale, Bucheon City Choir, and Changwon City Choir. His university teaching experience includes appointments at Yonsei University, Sungkyul University, Presbyterian University and Theological Seminary, Hyupsung University, Konkuk University, and Seoul Jang-Shin University. In 2017, he received the Yonsei University Outstanding Professor Award in recognition of his teaching excellence.
His administrative leadership includes service as Assistant Administrative Director and Steering Committee member for the IFCM 10th World Symposium on Choral Music (2014), as well as Administrative Director of the Seoul Federation for Choral Music. In the United States, Dr. Kim served as Director of the K-State Institute for Korean Choral Music and as a Visiting Scholar at Kansas State University.
In addition to his faculty appointment at Georgia Central University, Dr. Kim is Music Director of the Bridge Symphony Orchestra, Happy College Senior Choir, and Shine Community Chorus. He also serves as Senior Editor for KCM Alliance, an organization dedicated to the publication and promotion of Korean choral music.
